ChatMirror is a local viewer for ChatGPT and Claude conversation exports. This policy describes what data the application accesses, collects, and transmits. ChatMirror accesses only the export file you select, collects nothing, and transmits nothing.
Summary: ChatMirror reads local files on your computer. No data is collected, transmitted, or shared.
What data ChatMirror accesses
ChatMirror reads the conversation export files you provide, specifically the conversations.json files produced by ChatGPT and Claude. The file is opened locally on your device and processed in memory to display its contents within the application. No other files are read, requested, or accessed.
What data ChatMirror collects
ChatMirror does not collect or store any information about you or your use of the application.
What data ChatMirror transmits
The ChatMirror application does not make network connections. It does not communicate with external servers, send telemetry, or transmit any part of your conversation data. Application updates, when installed via the Microsoft Store or Mac App Store, are handled by those platforms under their own privacy practices.
Third parties
ChatMirror does not share data with third parties. The application has no integrations with analytics providers, advertising networks, or cloud services.
Data storage
ChatMirror does not maintain a database or persistent store of your conversation content. Your export files remain in whatever location you placed them on your filesystem. Closing the application does not retain any data about your conversations.
User control over your data
Because ChatMirror holds no data of yours, there is nothing to access, export, or delete on our side. Your original export files are under your control at all times and can be deleted from your filesystem whenever you choose.
Children's privacy
ChatMirror does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of ChatMirror introduces features that change this policy in any material way, this page will be updated and the date above will reflect that change. Users are encouraged to review this page periodically.
